Chloe Newton
Chloe is based at her parents’ yard in Leicestershire. She has a family tradition of riding: her father Joey won the Foxhunter at Aintree and her mother Emma also raced and evented to a high level. She herself started riding when she was just one-and-a-half years old on Thistle, and horses were always destined to be a major part of her life.
Chloe’s competitive Eventing career started with her pony Golden Piper with whom she was reserve for the Pony European Championship. In 2001 she began her partnership with Drop Dead Gorgeous who took her successfully from Pony Club to four star; they were also crowned Young Rider National Champions along the way. In 2002, she represented her country at the Eventing junior European Championships.
In 2005 Chloe tackled her first four-star event, finishing in 21st position with a clear cross-country, and the next year she went on to complete Badminton, again going clear cross-country.
After finishing her degree at Leeds University, Chloe began her professional Eventing career. With the retirement of Drop Dead Gorgeous in 2007, Chloe has concentrated on sourcing and producing quality young event horses that are now starting to make their mark on the Eventing world. Over the past couple of years, Chloe has also put much of her focus into the family’s breeding programme.
